So the Olympics have started and I think for the next two weeks I will be glued to the TV! I love watching all the athletes in the Games, every country! Of course though my favorite thing ever is to see the US sweep the podium! But it is also great when a country who has never won a medal wins one. Any medal, gold or not!
I wish that the TV coverage would show more athletes and events though. There are 19 Olympians that I know from the training center, and according to the TV schedule we will only see 4 or 5. Some is better than none though.
I don't know if anyone watched opening ceremonies last night (everyone should have) because they were amazing! The parade of nations was great, there are so many countries I didn't even know existed. The lighting of the torch though I will say was unbelievable to say the least.
The US medal count as of 5:00 pacific standard time is
3 Medals
1 Gold
1 Silver
1 Bronze
GO USA!!!

Life update
Ok, so I am really behind on my updates, but what else is knew. I get so busy and I don't even realize it. I try to not get so behind on keeping everyone posted with new and exciting things I am doing. They must not be that interesting or something who knows.
Well to start with, let me catch everyone up. Texas was so much fun, it was a great break from the training center, and the people I see everyday. I really like San Antonio, if only it wasn't so hot! I couldn't function for that long outside. Its always nice to see family, too bad everyone wasn't there. We went to Sea World, the pool, shopping just about everything I could need on a vacation. It was really fun playing with Carmen and Luke, although Jess thought I was bored the whole time, I wasn't one bit.
We have started a tradition even though the summer is just about over. We (Caleb, Cassie, Becca, myself the 2 interns and a few of the track athletes) have started Sunday Funday! Every Sunday we go to the beach and just have fun for the day. Two weeks ago, we dug the biggest hole, my sisters would have been proud. It was so much fun, the picture is just in the middle of our digging, the end result was much better. This past Sunday we had tickets to the AVP volleyball tournament, but we decided to just spend time on the beach. The water was awesome, so we just went swimming for most of the day. It was great, Sundays are now my favorite day of the week!
Workouts are going well, this week is a down week before we get into our power phase. I've given a lot of tours this week, so thats a plus. Not much to say really, I'm getting stronger and faster which is always a plus. I just can't believe the summer is almost over and I am heading back home soon!
Anyway, I can't believe that we will be sliding in about 2 months. Its crazy when you think about it. I'm getting really excited though I can't wait! My room is decorated with the collages I made before I left for Cali, with a few sliding things I love to stare at on my wall. Oh that reminds me, Cassie finally made it out here. Well about a month ago she got here, her roommate was a field hockey girl, but she left for Beijing so I moved into the room with Cassie. Its fun that way, except that now I live on the bottom bunk of a bunk bed. It is a good place to hang some pictures and other things, now I just stare at them when I wake up in the morning, and fall asleep.
Thats all I can really think about for now. I really will be better at keeping up with my posts from now on. Talk soon!!
